Steelers’ offense to face stiff challenge against Jaguars pass defense

Balance has been the answer to the Pittsburgh Steelers offensive problems this season. Fortunately, thanks to running back James Conner, it hasn’t been all about Ben Roethlisberger carrying the offense. This will serve them well when Pittsburgh takes on the Jacksonville Jaguars.

At his press conference on Tuesday, head coach Mike Tomlin noted the Jaguars are No. 1in the league in passing yards allowed. The group is led by cornerback Jalen Ramsey and paired up with a solid pass rush, are going to make life hard on the Steelers passing attack.

But the Steelers should be able to slow some of the heat down if they can establish the run. The Jaguars were able to keep Le’Veon Bell in check in two games last season but Conner is a completely different type of back and the offensive line is playing inspired football.

You could tell by Tomlin’s tone he respects the Jaguars defense a great deal regardless of their record and is working hard to prepare for a stout defense. The key is really going to be slowing down that Jacksonville pass rush. The Steelers offensive line has been stellar in pass protection, stalling out every effort to hit Big Ben.
